When the weather outside looks frightful!

Make sure your Jupiter Ed. Cell phone # is correct and that you have “Text Msg” alerts clicked

so you’ll receive a text when we have a school delay or snow day.

First and most importantly, it is always a parents prerogative to decide if it’s safe to bring their children to school. Never feel like there is pressure to put your family in danger. Road conditions vary and your situation may be different from the majority of our families. Please call the office and let us know if your child will not be attending school and we will let their teachers know.

As the weather gets colder please check the school website, your email, KONA 610 Radio, or your FLASH ALERT App.  We follow the KSD recommendations regarding school late starts and closures.  K.S.D. has transportation professionals who travel the roads early in the morning to decide if routes are appropriate for buses and for students to drive to school. 

KSD usually makes a late start decision at 6:00 AM with the final decision for the day being made at 7:30 AM. 

(note: When a late start is called, AM Preschool will be from 10:00 AM till 11:45 AM and PM Preschool will be from 1:15 PM till 3:00 PM. )

KSD school delays on Friday will result in a closure for us since we have early release Friday’s.

The Children’s Center will treat KSD Friday delays as a snow delay since they are open normal hours on Fridays.
