About Mrs. Liebe

My name is Mrs. Megan Liebe and I have been teaching at St. Joseph Catholic School since 2019. Before joining the St. Joseph community, I taught Kindergarten in the Kennewick School District. I am a graduate from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Hearing Sciences and later completed ,my Master’s in Teaching at Whitworth University.

My connection to St. Joseph Catholic School goes beyond my role as a teacher, as our family also chose St. Joseph for own children’s education because of its strong sense of faith, family, and community. I am passionate about creating a nurturing environment where students grow academically and spiritually every day.

 During the year, 1st grade students will focus on the following: 

Phonics skills 

Reading Comprehension

Writing complete sentences and short paragraphs

Spelling and sight word development

Addition and subtraction strategies

Understanding place value

Solving word problems

Learning about God’s love

Prayers 

First grade is a year of growth for a child.  Children will be learning to read, write, add and subtract.  They will be learning that God is our creator who made us in his image.

Our 1st graders had a day full of smiles at ‘A Bit of Happiness’ farm—petting animals, crafting, playing together, and picking the perfect pumpkins to take home!
