About Mrs. Tello

I have been teaching in the elementary school setting for five years working with kindergarten and first grade students. I truly enjoy watching students grow in their reading and writing skills and seeing their confidence grow as they learn new things. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family. 

 During the year, 1st grade students will focus on the following: 

Phonics skills 

Reading Comprehension

Writing complete sentences and short paragraphs

Spelling and sight word development

Addition and subtraction strategies

Understanding place value

Solving word problems

Learning about God’s love

Prayers 

First grade is a year of growth for a child.  Children will be learning to read, write, add and subtract.  They will be learning that God is our creator who made us in his image.

Our 1st graders had a day full of smiles at ‘A Bit of Happiness’ farm—petting animals, crafting, playing together, and picking the perfect pumpkins to take home!
