During the year, students will focus on the following:
Phonics (Heggerty), fluency (Readwell), vocabulary and comprehension in an age appropriate literacy program
Counting, measuring, sorting, place value, 2D and 3D shapes, number operations
Letter formation, drawing and dictating sentences
National holidays and well known examples from US History
Seasons, lifecycle of the butterfly, ladybug, plants and weather
Sense of God’s presence in the world around them and to appreciate their own uniqueness
In third grade, students take a more active role in their learning and faith. They are encouraged to lead others through interaction and by example. Students are asked to stretch to meet new goals daily, and develop new skills to enhance learning for years to come.
3rd graders learn and teach about the saints so that we are better able to be saints.
Annual Classroom Activities
• All Saints Day project presentation and lead school-wide mass
• Pumpkin Patch with older grade buddies
• Attend ACT performances
• Field Trip to planetarium
