Windy Negrete

About Mrs. Negrete:

Hello! My name is Mrs. Negrete, and I’ve been part of the St. Joseph School community for 22 years. During my time here, I’ve had the joy of teaching many different grades across both Elementary and Middle School. I currently serve as the Librarian, Reading Specialist, and 8th Grade Homeroom Teacher.

I earned my B.A. in Education from Eastern Washington University, with endorsements in Reading and Library Science, and later completed my M.A. in Education at Heritage University. I have always loved reading—it's one of the biggest reasons I chose to become a reading teacher and Librarian.

I am also a proud alumna of St. Joseph School, graduating in 1994. It’s a true blessing to be able to give back to the school that shaped me.

Big kids + little kids = big hearts. 💙💛
We love our 8th grade & kindergarten buddy program — where leadership, laughter, and lifelong memories begin!

During the year, 8th grade students will focus on the following:

Annual Classroom Activities

Our 8th grade students lead the way at St. Joseph! Throughout the year, they take on meaningful roles that prepare them for high school and beyond. From organizing school-wide service projects and mentoring younger students to leading assemblies and representing our school at community events, they set the tone for leadership and responsibility.

Middle School ELA/Literature: Mailee Bui

About Ms. Bui: Hello! I’m Ms. Bui, and I’m thrilled to be part of the St. Joseph community.
I have a B.A. in Secondary English Education and a Minor in Catholic Studies. English has always been my favorite subject, and it’s my greatest joy to now teach the class where I first fell in love with reading and writing. I’m also passionate about serving middle school and high school youth at my local parish through Confirmation and Life Teen. My favorite part of teaching is fostering relationships both in and outside of the classroom. This is my first year teaching at SJS, and I absolutely love it! When I’m not in the classroom, you’ll find me baking, reading a good book, or going on road trips with my loved ones.

About Mrs. St. Hilaire:

Mrs. St. Hilaire has a B.A. in Theology and Philosophy from Franciscan University of Steubenville, an M.A. in Teaching, and is working towards an M.Ed. in Catholic Educational Leadership from Ave Maria University. She has been involved in Catholic education (elementary, middle, high school, and adult) since 2007, but is most at home sharing the love of Christ with middle school students. She has taught at St. Joseph since 2015.

While Scripture and Sacramental theology are her favorite topics, she also delights in the logic and systematic thinking of Algebra and Geometry. In her free time, Mrs. St. Hilaire is a hobby cheese-maker with the milk from her Jersey cow, “Prima Donna.”

8th Grade Retreat at Lutherhaven – Coeur d’Alene, Idaho
At the beginning of each school year, our 8th grade class heads to Camp Lutherhaven for a powerful retreat experience. Surrounded by nature and grounded in faith, students build lasting friendships, grow as leaders, and strengthen their teamwork skills. Through shared challenges, reflection, and fun, they begin their final year at St. Joseph Catholic School united in purpose — ready to lead by example in both heart and spirit.
